Kept After Tax

Method

US federal tax uses the 2026 bands and standard deduction from IRS Revenue Procedure 2025-32. Social Security uses the 2026 wage base of $184,500 and the 6.2 percent employee rate. Medicare is 1.45 percent, plus 0.9 percent over the filing threshold.

State wage tax is an estimate. States with no wage income tax are treated as zero. Other states use a single rate as a stand-in, and the page says so. Local city taxes are not included.

UK tax uses HMRC employer thresholds for 2026 to 2027. Scotland has its own income tax bands. National Insurance is 8 percent between the primary threshold and the upper earnings limit, then 2 percent.

Canada uses the 2026 federal and provincial brackets published by the Canada Revenue Agency. The basic personal amount and other credits are not subtracted. Quebec provincial tax is not calculated here.

Australia uses resident 2026-27 bands and a 2 percent Medicare levy, without the low-income reduction.

Loan math is standard monthly amortization. The starting rate is not a live lender quote.
